Triple Gee Sheds His Maiden Tag at Salisbury

TRIPLE GEE broke his maiden in fine fashion this afternoon in the Class 4 Madar Corporation Handicap stakes at Salisbury racecourse, digging deep in the closing stages to outstay opponents including the well supported market favourite MARNIER.

Under a confident ride from Oisin Murphy, TRIPLE GEE broke well from the stalls and tracked the early pacemaker MARNIER, and despite coming off the bridle first out of the leading pack, dug deep and travelled strongly on the run in, passing rivals and taking the spoils in only his third visit to the racecourse.

He has continued to improve with each run since his debut in May, and boasts a progressive profile for a gelding that took some time to get to the racecourse, but now it looks like the owners patience has been truly rewarded!

Having now received an opening Handicap mark, we have an array of potential racecourse targets to aim for to continue his progressive season, he looks like the type that will appreciate a step up in trip as he strengthens and matures, but he looks a fantastic prospect for the remainder of the season.

Triple Gee

Took a step forward to get off the mark, though by how much is hard to be sure of, likely the favourite was below his best in opening the door; chased leader, pushed along over 3f out, led entering final 1f, ridden out; did nothing here to alter the view that he's a stayer, and is likely to progress further when getting the chance to show his stamina.
