Silky Smooth Lands our 30th Win for 2022

SILKY SMOOTH broke his maiden on handicap debut in a very professional display, signing off the end of the year with our 30th win!

 

Jockey Jack Mitchell gave him a brilliant ride, finding cover early on and turning up the gears a furlong out to come out on top. By middle-distance stallion SMOOTH DADDY and out of Listed-winner ANBELLA, SILKY SMOOTH seemed to relish the step up to a mile, making easy work of it and winning by 3/4 of a length. Bred by Starfield Stud of Compass Stallions, we purchased him from Ihor Andray Bloodstock for 32,000 GNS at Tattersalls' Book 3 Sale. 

This win ends a remarkable month for us, with every one of our runners in December landing a place in the winner's enclosure. Our form for December reads 32111121231 - a wonderful way to round off a fantastic year!

SILKY SMOOTH (IRE) well backed, showed improved form to get off the mark making nursery debut over 1f longer trip, making short work of his opening mark and certainly bred to prove a lot better than this grade; mid-field, travelled well, headway 2f out, produced to lead final 1f, pushed out; in good hands and will go on improving.


A low-grade nursery run at a modest pace and it was won comfortably by a well-connected type that proved strong in the betting.
