PARIS LIGHTS Shines on Stable Debut

PARIS LIGHTS shone through to win his stable debut with trainer George Boughey.

Looking a picture in the paddock, PARIS LIGHTS went out to the track as the clear favourite with William Buick on board. In his first run since we purchased him for George Boughey, he showed all the potential we felt he had locked away, and looks to improve further still.

He was originally bought back by the vendor as a yearling at 650,000 GNS, and was sent into training with Jessica Harrington. We were lucky to purchase him for only 60,000 GNS as a three-year-old (sourced by Hurworth Bloodstock at Tattersalls' July Sale), and were hopeful that his spectacular physical and regal breeding would prove effective. As the full-brother to ST MARK'S BASILICA and half-brother to MAGNA GRECIA, he has every chance of improving with time.

PARIS LIGHTS (IRE) fitted with tongue strap but minus the blinkers on first start for 7 months/since leaving Mrs J. Harrington for 60,000 gns (also gelded in interim), took well to all-weather and showed improved form open his account; disputed lead first 2f, remained prominent, led around 3f out, kicked on soon after, kept on well; looked more straightforward than has been the case and could have more to come this winter, looking a decent type physically and from a good family.

A novice in which the gallop only really picked up from 4f out, but the winner did it nicely on first start for a new yard and is worth crediting with some progression.
