Debut Delight for Royal Fixation

On a fine afternoon in North Yorkshire, ROYAL FIXATION announced her arrival in style, powering to victory by a length in the 6f Join BresBet EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes on debut.

Trained by Ed Walker and ridden by George Downing, this daughter of Palace Pier looked every inch the part—settling sweetly behind the pace before quickening in decisive fashion, making light work of her rivals, including the well supported odds-on Favourite MANDARIN SPIRIT

She took absolutely everything in her stride that day, and it could not have been a better introduction and education for a thoroughbred that prior to that day, had yet to visit the track.

After the emphatic success, George Downing shared his thoughts with Racing TV:

“She did things quite effortlessly through the first half of the race, and I thought she finished off her race well. She seemed a little bit too classy for the rest of them."

Darley's report noted that this was the third first-crop winner for sire Palace Pier in just six days—an impressive early strike rate from a stallion on the rise.

She has come out of the race in fine order, and looks an absolutely fantastic prospect going forward, she will no doubt have learn’t a lot from her first trip to the racecourse, but we could not be happier with her debut.

Timeform Review:

Time: 1m 11.10s

Royal Fixation Travelled strongly, in touch with leaders, went second over 2f out, shaken up and led over 1f out, edged left inside final furlong, kept on pushed out

Has clearly inherited plenty of the speed in her pedigree as she made a winning start in smooth fashion; never far away, travelled well, produced to lead over 1f out, ran green final 1f, pushed out (Jumped winning line); Sure to progress.
