Celtic Champion Scores at Lingfield

CELTIC CHAMPION returns to form with a smart performance at Lingfield.

Saturday 11th February saw CELTIC CHAMPION come up against his old rival, GLORIOUS ANGEL, and reverse the form decisively with an easy victory. Trainer Andrew Balding has found the key to him once more, bringing him back to form with Joshua Bryan on board.

Half-brother to Group horse DRAGON SYMBOL, we purchased CELTIC CHAMPION for £150,000 from the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale. We have always felt that he has a lot of potential and look forward to seeing him at some of the big handicaps this season!

Race Review

Time: 70.24s Closing Sectional: (2.00f): 22.45s

CELTIC CHAMPION who'd been well fancied when disappointing on all-weather debut last time (albeit trapped wide), put that effort well behind him with a much improved performance to notch his frst success in handicap company; awkward leaving stalls, in rear, headway over 1f out, led inside final 1f, edged left, kept on; he's got a likeable way of going about things and should continue to give a good account.

A fairly useful 3-y-o handicap on balance, the winner putting a lesser effort behind him to get the better of a pair who came into it in good form.
