Black-Type secured for the ever consistent Scommessa Sicura

Scommessa Sicura underlined her rapid rise through the ranks with a game second-placed finish in the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury today, reinforcing the fillies ultra-consistent profile and exciting future ahead.

The daughter of Cracksman was sent off among the market principals for the mile contest and ran her race from the front rank, ultimately finishing behind the impressive Godolphin colt Quest For Stars, who scored under Connor Planas for Charlie Appleby.

It was the latest step in the rise of our two year old, secured at the Tattersalls October yearling Sale for 100,000 guineas. Having subsequently progressed to Listed level and run to a rating in the low 90s, it represents a considerable uplift on our initial outlay, and further black-type form now firmly underpins her appeal as a broodmare prospect down the line.

Speaking before her step up in trip, Andrew Balding stated she had looked impressive on her Newmarket win, adding further that stepping up to a mile suited her, given she was bred to stay that far and that Murphy could not pull her up on that occasion. That confidence proved well founded, with the Salisbury run coming after a sequence of three seconds followed by a breakthrough maiden win at Newmarket's July Festival, form that has continued to work out well and speaks to just how consistent she has been through her two year old campaign.

The exciting filly holds a number of exciting entries and potential targets as we near the tail end of the season, and we are very excited to see where she will take us.

Congratulations once again to all connections!

SCOMMESSA SICURA (IRE) couldn't land the odds in receipt of weight from the others yet showed form at least as good as before, running into a strong stayer at the longer trip who arrived unbeaten; chased leader, led under 2f out, worn down final 50 yds but still did enough to prove her own stamina.

All 6 had already won at least once and half of them proved themselves pattern class by drawing clear in a listed race with an admittedly mixed track record over the years.
