An Unforgettable Day for REWIRED and PUDDLESINTHEPARK

PUDDLESINTHEPARK and REWIRED bring home a double for the jumps!

Jockey Isabel Williams rode PUDDLESINTHEPARK to the first victory of the day in the 3m handicap hurdle at Ffos Las, in a thrilling battle against HUNGRY HILL ridden by Nick Scholfield. It was a well-judged ride from Williams, and the pair made a remarkable comeback in the final furlong, where it had looked like Scholfield had the race in hand.

PUDDLESINTHEPARK was purchased for 60,000 GNS by trainer Evan Williams at the Tattersalls Cheltenham February Sale. He is by the great WALK IN THE PARK, the exceptional Coolmore National Hunt stallion, sire to the likes of MIN, DOUVAN, FACILE VEGA and JONBON.

PUDDLESINTHEPARK (IRE) was suited by 4f longer trip, showed improved form to get off the mark; patiently ridden, went handy 4 out, led briefly between 3 out and 2 out, stayed on to lead again run-in.

A modest handicap overall but a positive view can be taken of the pair that pulled clear, both completely unexposed trying the trip for the first time.

REWIRED landed the next win at Huntingdon in the handicap hurdle over 2m. Luke Scott brought him back to winning ways for Dr Richard Newland, bringing the jockey his 10th win of the season.

REWIRED has been an unbelievably consistent horse for us since we purchased him for 45,000 GNS at the Tattersalls Autumn HIT Sale, winning three times and landing in the winners' enclosure 10 times from 11 runs.

In a post-race interview, Luke Scott described REWIRED as:

He's a very straightforward horse and very genuine... It was actually good that we had something to aim at, to keep him focused on the job, and when we got past [SWINGING LONDON] I thought there was no stopping him.
