ADDISON GREY LANDS OPULENCE THOROUGHBREDS’ 100TH WINNER IN STUNNING 17-LENGTH ROMP
Saturday 26th July 2025 will go down as a landmark date in the history of Opulence Thoroughbreds, as our exciting colt Addison Grey delivered a emphatic 17-length victory at Salisbury to secure our 100th lifetime winner in unforgettable fashion.
Lining up as the short-priced favourite in the 18:30 Madar Corporation Novice Stakes (Class 4) Addison Grey came into the race with a weight of expectation, and he certainly didn’t disappoint. Trained by Clive Coxand ridden with confidence by Saffie Osborne, the striking grey travelled strongly throughout the contest. Despite momentarily stumbling around the three-furlong pole, he quickly regained his rhythm, swept to the lead over two furlongs out, and pulled right away from his rivals to record one of the most commanding victories of the flat season so far.
The official winning margin was a scarcely believable 17 lengths, with his closest pursuer, Scent Of May, simply unable to lay a glove on him. It was a performance that oozed class and maturity, especially considering it was just his third career start.
For everyone involved at Opulence Thoroughbreds, this was far more than just another winner. This was a milestone moment, the 100th winner since our inception and what a way to bring it up. From our very first runner to now notching a century of winners, it’s been a journey fuelled by passion, and the unwavering support of our loyal owners and racing partners. To reach this landmark with such a commanding performance underlines the quality and ambition that drives everything we do.
Special thanks must go to trainer Clive Cox, who has done a fantastic job nurturing Addison Grey’s development. The pair look a formidable team moving forward, and we’re excited to see what the rest of the season holds for this talented son of Havana Grey.
Saturday’s success will give him a huge confidence boost and opens up plenty of exciting options moving forward.
