Opulence Bloodstock are delighted to announce the purchase of SEA THE BOSS, secured at the coveted sceptre scessions during the Tattersalls December Mares Sale for 200,000gns.

This talented and proven race-mare joins Opulence Bloodstock's growing rank of breeding prospects  and will begin her journey at Kilshannig Stud over in Ireland.

By the German Guineas winner SEA THE MOON, we were delighted to add the impeccably bred filly to our ranks. She has the form to back her smart pedigree up, with the height of her success coming in May of 2024 when achieving Group 3 glory in the IRISH EBF Jannah Rose Stakes, before following up that effort with a strong Group 2 Placed effort in the Prix Alec Head in Deauville, recording a career high RPR of 101 in the process.

A tough mare, who was incredibly versatile with regards to both ground and trip conditions, having frequently run over both a Mile and a Quarter and a Mile and a Half,  and are traits which we look forward to seeing her pass down to her progeny.

SEA THE BOSS boasts an outstanding broodmare’s page as a black-type daughter of SHAELLA, who holds a 100% strike rate with her progeny, delivering three winners from three runners. SHAELLA is herself a daughter of the exceptional broodmare MOURIYANA, one of the family’s cornerstones, who produced nine winners, including two Stakes performers.

Among them is SKIN’S GAME, an eight-time winner and victor of both the Gr.3 Prix Edmond Blanc and the Listed Prix Altipan in France, as well as EPATHA, winner of the Listed Prix Occitanie. This is a proven, durable, and high-class European family.

Our mare is by SEA THE MOON, the outstanding sire son of SEA THE STARS and one of Europe’s most influential middle-distance stallions. Winner of the German Derby, SEA THE MOON has established himself as a top-class sire, responsible for five Group 1 winners, 21 Group winners, and 73 Flat Stakes performers to date. Descended from a spectacular middle-distance lineage, he consistently transmits class to his progeny.

As a black-type winner with an outstanding pedigree and strong outcross potential, she is a superb addition to our broodmare band, offering the promise of commercially appealing progeny!
