*Bought from Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 2 - Europe’s largest yearling sale and producer of Group 1 winners BAYSIDE BOY, ADDEYBB, EMILY UPJOHN, MINZAAL, DESERT CROWN, STATE OF REST and ZAAKI.*

This was the most expensive colt out of the those we purchased, but worth every penny when you take his family into account: out of a Group and Listed winning dam, and half-brother to Group and Listed winner DR ZEMPH, who took second in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes. He looks the perfect sprinting type, sharp and compact with strong quarters that will grow into a cracking type with time.

Pedigree

This will be TOO DARN HOT’s first season as a sire, but given that he was unbeaten at two and European Champion at two and three, we are confident that he will be just as successful as his own sire, DUBAWI. From the outstanding Watership Down broodmare DAR RE MI, he has remarkable breeding potential from both sides of his pedigree. The industry recognised this immediately and he has received incredible support in his first crop with some of the best mares in the business.

His winning French dam by SIYOUNI was an excellent two-year-old with a TimeForm rating of 102. She triumphed in a Listed race and the Group 3 Prix Eclipse, and this has carried over to her progeny with three winners from four runners: DR ZEMPF is an 111-rated colt with prize money totalling over 100k. He has had victories over 6 and 7f at two and three, including Group 3 and Listed races. He also placed second in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes behind EBRO RIVER last year.
