This smart grey colt by Phoenix of Spain, out of Kitty Jones, is our newest addition to the Opulence string. He boasts an exceptional pedigree, out of a daughter to multiple Group winner Di Moi Oui. She was an outstanding race-mare who proved an even more successful broodmare, producing 10 winners from 13 runners including three stakes horses, and her daughters have continued that legacy as producers of copious black-type winners. This colt's dam, Kitty Jones, has every chance of continuing the family’s success with her own progeny.
Physically, he looks a scopey, Classic type to look forward to in time. He is in the same mould as his high class sire, who won the Gr.3 Acomb Stakes at two and the Gr.1 Irish 2000 Guineas at three. He goes into training with Classic-winning Andrew Balding, who is having his best season yet, earning over £7 million in prize money this year and sitting a close second in the British Flat Trainer's Championship.
