We are delighted to announce the purchase of an exceptional filly by the world-class sire Lope De Vega, out of Witches Brew, secured at the Tattersalls Book 1 Sale.
A quality individual, she walked beautifully through the ring, with great depth and plenty of strength behind. She is also eligible for bonuses this year which will see her take home the £25,000 Book 1 Bonus for her first Maiden or Novice victory at two years old.
We are thrilled to have her join Ed Walker’s string, a top class trainer who took us to Stakes level last year. With her pedigree, physical, and attitude, this filly represents a truly exciting addition to the Opulence Thoroughbreds roster.
Pedigree
This filly comes from one of the most coveted sire lines in Europe.
Lope De Vega needs little introduction, a dual Classic winner who has established himself among the elite at stud. He has sired top-class performers such as Phoenix of Spain, Belardo and Silver Knott, along with Dreamloper and Almaqam, both Group 1 winners trained by Ed Walker himself.
Her dam, Witches Brew, has already produced four Stakes performers from seven runners and hails from a deep black-type family. Since we purchased this filly, the page has had two serious updates with her full sister, Expensive Queen, winning the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley Stakes at Keeneland in May 2026. Meanwhile, Al Haarith further enhanced the pedigree with a placing in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes last year, adding to Antonia de Vega's Group 3 Princess Royal Stakes victory.
