The trade was extremely strong in Book 1, but this colt was at the top of our list and we were delighted to be able to secure him. He has a cracking action with great flexion, and plenty of scope. He is by NIGHT OF THUNDER, who is having a fantastic stallion campaign with sprinters such as HIGHFIELD PRINCESS, Europe’s highest-rated sprinting filly or mare, as well as SUESA and THUNDEROUS. A quick, precocious type from a strong family, he ticked all the boxes for us!

The sire of HIGHFIELD PRINCESS, who took a Group 1 treble this year - “Timeform rates her not just the best sprinter in Europe but the finest filly or mare in the world.”

And that is before we even get to his family - this colt descends from a dam line steeped in black-type winners. From the same family as Group 1-winning PIPALONG, AL KIRANA is the half-sister to Group-winner SHAMWARI LODGE and Listed-winner IMPERIAL ROME. We think she has the potential to bear a star in our colt, having had two winners from two runners with moderate sires. We are hopeful that the cross with proven sire NIGHT OF THUNDER will be a triumph!
